.. I use laptop communicating via direct Cable and DSL (two locations).-
This problem occurs in both locations.
Internet connection set as (LAN) "automatically detect settings"
- Recently after I close IE window, reboot- or even leave the pc dormant
with IE open for a few hours- I receive " page cannot be found" message when
attempting to access internet sites.
I check tools/internet options/communcations/LAN settings- and they have
changed to "use proxy server for LAN"
I then change communication settings back to "automatically detect
settings" and
"ok" the change
- can now access sites until close IE window or reboot etc. Then again
reverts back to "use proxy server for LAN" and problem loop.
I have not seen this exact problem on other posts- .
Thought it might be spyware and yesterday dowloaded MSN Spyware beta- and
deleted 3 potential problems. Problem seemed to be fixed.
This morning same problem re-ocurred. re-ran spyware with no new detected
problems.
Any ideas welcome- thanx
