IE cause general protection fault

Recently the following problem occurs more frequently.
Explorer caused a general protection fault in module
GDI.exe a 0001:000009d4.

My machine runs on Windows 98 and IE 6.0 with all recent
updates including the Direct X 9.0 b rumtime update.

At the same time another similar problem occurs , that is,
MSMSGR caused invlid page fault in module GDI.EXE at
0001:00052b1.

Anyone can help please?

I have read the webpage as posted but could not find the
relevant topics. Any further help?

P.S. I have also installed Yahoo Messenger, sometimes when
I watched the other parties' webcam video, it also have
encountered the same problem - ypager.exe caused an
invalid page fault in module GDI.EXE at 0015f:XXXXX...
