IE - can't find server or DNS

Used spybot to take out accumulated junk and menu bars. Since then, I get a can't find server or DNS white page when IE opens. restored all Spybot changes but that did not help. OE and Weatherbug work fine. Unistalled and reinstalled IE from Add Prgrams, same problem. Reinstalled XP Pro from disc, same problem. IE6 does not show on Add Programs after reinstall but icons exist and program opens. I can't even get to Upgrade site. Any ideas?

Your winsock config could be damaged.
