Hi, I'm running Win ME and IE6.
I can connect to the internet, but when I run IE6, it
shows "Cannot find server", and the content shows "page
not displayed. ... . Cannot find server. DNS Error"

I've deleted cookies and temporary files, and also
checked the winsock lib files as suggested by MS
Knowledge Base.

Also, in the WinME, the System Information (Accessories--
System Tools) starts "Help and Support" instead!

please help! Thanks!!!

Hi Ross,

Yes, I try connecting with different access number.
Internet connection is ok - can see the icon in
notification area when connected.

It was previously IE5.5 when the problem starts, and I
upgrade it to IE6 to try to see if the problem will be
solved, but it didn't.
The IE gives the error "page not displayed", as shown
below.

I remember there's a command or application that shows
the "programs" that "tags on and runs with IE". Can't
remember what you call it and the command/application.
Could you please advice, as I'd like to turn off
those "parasite" programs to see if it can solve the
problem. THANKS!

To resolve the issue u have to delete host files from your
computer. ONce you have delete host files then delete
temporary internet files and cookies

Here are the steps to delete host files.

1) From the Start menu on your computer, click Search. (In
some versions of Windows®, you must click Find.)

2) Select All files and folders. (Some versions of Windows
list this option as Files or Folders.)

3) Type "hosts" (without quotation marks) in the file name
box and click Search. (Some versions of Windows list this
as Find Now.)

4) Once you locate the "hosts" file within your Windows or
WINNT directory, right click the file and click Delete.

Note:-- Please delete all the host files including
lmhost , if you are unable ot delete lmhost files in that
case you have to close all internet explorer browser

Please reply me as soon as ur issue is resolved.
