Cannot find server or DNS Error

On a number of sites after opening a few pages I get the following error message when I press the Back button or if I choose a previous page on the drop down menu.
"Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer"
OS Win XP. IE6

Help would be appreciated.
