IE cannot find Search Engines but can find 'normal' websitese...

When I type in www.google.com, IE will simply pause and

Either IE cannot find the "DNS entry" or it will feed
through to namesdirect.com with the following address in
the address bar:

http://www.www.google.com.com/

Weird. Any help very much appreciated.

i have no problems with these sites....or any shopping
engines....or ebay/half ...or amazon.com
even yahoo.com and cbs.com/iwon(google) works great....

must be new virus out there somewhere...maybe ISP problem.

it is not microsoft or internet explorer problem.
