IE cannot find path --XP Home

Each time I log in I recive a message that says 'Cnnot
open file 'iexplore.exe'. IE does run.

IE is not listed in Add/remove so that I cannot run
repair.

I am fully patched and running Norton AV.

Can some one comment or tell me how to repair?
