IE automatically closes windows in taskbar

I just ran into this problem after downloading Adobe yesterday. IE will not
allow me to have more than one window open in the taskbar, and will
automatically close the first window if I try to open a second one. For
example, if I click on a link in my email, rather than open in a new window,
IE automatically closes out my email window, but opens the new link, leaving
me with one window open in my taskbar. Any idea how to get rid of this
problem?
