Is there a quick way to close multiple IE windows

Hi

Since acquiring a large widescreen monitor I can now have many more IE
windows shown individually on the taskbar - consequently they no longer
group into one button.

The problem is if I want to close them all, I have to do each one
individually - when there a lot this can be very tedious!

So is there a quick way I can close all open IE windows in one go?

Thanks

Ian

You should be able to click IE on the task bar, and then click the X in the
upper corner.

Or try File and Close at the top

Thanks for replying Squire.

Of course thats the usual way. Perhaps you didnt read my original post
thoroughly?

I'm looking for a shortcut way to close all open IE windows without having
to do each one individually.

Does anyone know if there is a way to have all open IE windows group to one
taskbar button or set a maximum number which will then trigger them to group
to one taskbar button.

Cheers.

Hi Ian,
I think there is, but search for it, I don't have it in my brain at the
moment, but instead of that why you don't tell IE to open these windows in
the same window (I.E reuse the same one and use ALT + Arrow keys (Left or
Right) to backword and forward to which Window.
If you interested in this Option, Go to Advanced Tab on the IE properties
and under Browsing Option slect the following:
[ ] Reuse Windows for Launching shortcuts
Check this Box.
HTH.

Well if you tight click the taskbar and check "Group similar icons together"
it will do that but only after the taskbar gets full, so I guess you could
unlock the taskbar and drag the right edge of the quick launch bar over to
the right or the language bar (If in use) over to the left and make that
area small. This is not a great answer but I can't think of any obvious
alternative.

Open up enough more IE windows to cause them to be grouped? <eg>
(Then use right-click Close Group)

However, there has always been a way to close multiple taskbar icons
at once: just use left-click while holding down a Ctrl- key to select them.
Then right-click on one of the selected icons and use the menu for the
group.

Thanks
