IE and Virus Protection

I have XP on my computer along with Norton Anti Virus
2004. I can not upload my virus protection. I says that
it cant upload from the catalog file. Then I go to
Symantec to get help, but it wont load. Says page can not
be loaded. Now I cant reach any of the virus sites. i.e.
VGA, Trend Micro, Norton, Symantec.

I have contacted Symantec and then have gone over
everything with me and cant help me. I have contacted
Earthlink who we use and they cant help. Please give me
another direction to go in. Reload IE? I have done a
search on Hosts and come up with the proper one in
C:\windows\system32\etc

spybot may find what the problem is too safer-networking.org
