IE 7 no connection after install

Hi
I installed IE7 and now i cannot connect to the internet. i rebooted and
reset my modam and no luck.
Win XP sp2 all updated.
I had to uninstall to get back on. Firefox still works.
 
How do you get on the net. Do you click on internet explorer or your dial up
icon.
 
Cable Modem. allways on connection. wireless router but i am hardwired into
it. i have reset both and no luck. all other programs still work just IE7
does not work after i install it and then ie only works after i uninstall it.
 
What I did on one pc, uninstall sp2, uninstall nic, reinstall sp2 then go
back and set up network.
