IE 7 hangs on uninstall

I have tried several times to remove IE 7 by following the directions
provided by Microsoft, but my system (XP-Pro) "hangs" and requires pushing
the power switch. Even Ctrl Alt Del doesn't work at that stage.

I would appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thank you.

You may have a horked install of IE7. I suggest reading the following
link...

Sandi's notes on "IE7 Gold", including Installation Tips

....and then uninstalling (and reinstalling?) IE7 per Sandi's tips.
