IE 7 can't find any web pages . . .

I upgraded to IE 7.0.5730.11 and now I can't get any web pages to
load, *including* Windows Update to see if there is a fix.

I get the standard "Internet Explorer Cannot display the webpage."

I've run all the connection wizards I can find through the error
message and through control panel and they all say my internet
connection is fine (I'm writing this though Firefox).

Nice to have Firefox, isn't it? I personally am not of fan of IE7
although I'm sure many here are.

1... Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
you will see these Options:
General | Security | Privacy | Content | Connections | Programs
| Advanced .

Click on General Tab (1st Tab on the left) and you will see a Button called
[ Clear History ..] click on it to clear your History caches, then click on
[Delete Files..] to delete Internet Files created over the time, click on [
Delete Cookies...] to delete your cookies left by visiting websites.

= Then try to Disable the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow installed on your
browser, On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons ( you need to Renable them one-by-one
later and see which is the culprit or you can send them here in your next
post) and click [OK] to confirm your Changes.

Click on Advanced Tab and scroll down under the browsing option and uncheck
this box:
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) and click Apply
then OK to close your IE Properties.

Download and install after installing this software and
update then run a scan in both safe mode and normal:

ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine.

2. Click the appropriate link for your version of Windows.
3. Click Download (located at the right side of the page).
4. Click Save to Disk and save the file to the default location.
5. Install the download and reboot.

Disable the Web Accelerator. Disable Security, Download Assistant, or Web
Accelerator Software.

1. Microsoft has verified that the types of software programs in the
following list contribute to "Unauthorized" or "Access Denied/Forbidden"
errors. Disable any third party software that fits a description in the
following list:

- Ad Blocking programs
- Web Accelerators installed by your ISP or other Software to speed up
downloaded pages.
- Download Assistants, not MS but third party ones.
- Security software such as "At Guard" or "NetZip", Ad-Aware, Spysweeper,
Spybot S&D, Spy Doctor.
- Antivirus Software can block the update thinking it is an Flood attack
(DSO)

Actually, there are some programs that do a great job of program
updates, including non-Microsoft ones. None free that I know of though.
