IE 6 stops every time for a few ...

Dear

I have a prob which has started this morning. I opened IE and normaly he
searches for Google, but this is what happens every time I open IE or I type
another URL-adress and press on Enter:

the status bar says: searching for www.google.be
a little second later he stops searching (so, the blue line stops
increasing). And also the status bar is empty. You cannot click somewhere in
IE anymore.
Then, lots of seconds later, he starts again with searching for the
requested page and finds it ...

I have a w2k system, and IE 6 sp1.

I never had probs with IE in the past ...
