IE 6 Slow to Load

Hi:

My IE 6 (latest version) is very slow to load and I cannot exactly recall when then problem started. I have Java J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6 installed and read somewhere that this might be the cause of slow loading. However, I also have Webroot SpySweeper 4.5.8.683 installed and if I shut this application down then IE 6 loads normally.

So I really do not know if it's Java Update 6 or SpySweeper causing the slow load problem. Any specific comments about this problem and/or cause will be appreciated.

Happy New Year!

I found that if I turned active x protection for spysweeper off IE6 loaded
just fine. But I really think it is a J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
problem. I uninstalled J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6, turned active
x protection for spysweeper back on and all is well.
For what its worth. Rebel

Thanks for your reply and info. Sounds like a conflict in programs. I have
sent an inquiry to WebRoot (SpySweeper) about this problem and if they come
back with anything worth posting I will post accordingly.

I appreciate your response. Happy New Year!

The problem is the java update 5. I the same slow loadup issue and have
spysweeper as well and found it's java. Just get java runtime 1.42.10 and
stay with that and deselect autoupdate.
