IE 6 says action cancelled will not connect

i just cleaned my computer littered with spyware. At this
point IE was still running.

I deleted a program called Internet Optimizer.

After which my IE 6 stopped working, alone and also through
AOL.

However, I am able to use netscape? I would prefer to go
back to IE I've tried numerous times to re-install the
browser and aohell. To no avail.
