IE 6 not working after SP 1

After installing service pack 1 my IE 6 stopped working. I
have re-installed XP pro. And it will work but as soon as
updates loads SP 1 it stops working. When opened IE displays:

This Page Cannot Be Displayed

Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer

Netscape and other browsers run fine. Whats up with SP 1.

Make sure that NAV is disabled while downloading and installing SP1.

Yes, I've done that however when I try to install IE it
comes up with a logo error message and aborts the install.
