IE 6 does not cooperate !

My IE 6 with Windows XP Pro opens up and then closes as soon as it opens the start page
It started to happen about two weeks ago and even uninstalling and reinstalling didn't do ther trick
Anyone please hel

Ziggy,
This is possibly caused by spyware/parasites. Work through the
solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Less likely, but look at other programs which might be interfering with IE.
Disable (for
diagnostic purposes) ad-blockers, antivirus, toolbars and other add-ons for
IE. You may have to uninstall/reinstall one of them.

Open the Internet Options applet in Control Panel
Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" on the Advanced tab.
You may also have to set the Home Page to about:blank

Then eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
