IE 6 corrupted

My IE 6.0 suddenly won't start -- error message comes up
and freezes machine. No option to uninstall in control
panel - only "repair" or "add module." I have used repair
for hours, but nothing helps. I had to have my sister
e-mail Netscape so I can browse at all. My e-mail works.
Any ideas?

This is probably a parasite/malware problem.
Start with CWShredder 1.51 from http://www.zerosrealm.com/downloads.php

Then if necessary download, *update* and run Ad-aware and/or Spybot.

If not caused by malware, consider disabling (for diagnostic purposes)
legitimate programs running in the background which might be interacting
with IE- security, antivirus, etc. You may have to uninstall then reinstall
a program.
