IE 6 closes when accessing Yahoo Mail

Greetings,

I have a FRESH XP SP2 install with all relevant IE XP SP2 patches installed,
including the most recent security update.

No viruses and no spyware. When I to to yahoo mail and click on any mail
link IE simply closes. No error and no warning. I haven't seen this behavior
on any other sites.

Advice??

Additional info.

I do NOT have yahoo messenger or any other Yahoo add ins installed.
