Internet Explorer will not load page and hangs.

When I open Internet explorer the page tries to load but can't. Also when I
open my shortcut to windows up-date IE hangs and does not respond.When I end
the program I get the IE has encountered a problem and needs to close box.
The error sinature is : explore.exe szAppVer:6.0.2900.2180 szModName: hungapp
The error report contents:
C:\DOCUME~1\STANLE~1\Temp\Wer428a.dir00\iexplore.exe.ndmp
C:\DOCOME~1\STANLE~1\Temp\Wer428a.dir00\appcomPat.txt. I sent the error
report. Also Yahoo and Firefox browsers work fine.There are no spyware or
virus problems. My OS is Xp Pro SP2 IE 6. I down loaded and installed the
revised updates. (Ms06-015) I also installed the KB908531 patch into the
registry.

I have the exact problem. I am SO frustrated. I quit using IE years
ago and the ONLY reason I am attempting to now is because my job
REQUIRES it. What is wrong with those idiots at Microsoft? Do they
even care? Are they TRYING to be retarded? Firefox has been a god
send but microsoft wont let you glean information form their retarded
site unless you are using their browser that wont even open a single
page on the entire World Wide Web.
