IE 6 Cannot Launch Javascript

I am running Internet Explorer 6 on my desktop and have
noticed that there are a few links/buttons that I cannot
open. There is a "javascript" context note on the bottom
of the IE frame when I put the pointer on the link. On
this particular computer, I am running Win98 SE. My
laptop is running XP with IE 6, but doesn't have the
problem. I have Java enabled in my advanced settings.

Thanks.

Java has nothing to do with JavaScript.

Sometimes there's a corrupt file in the cache and one must go to Tools |
Internet Options and click Delete Files.

It appears to be a corrupt file in my cache. HOWEVER, the
same corrupt file seems to always be appearing in my
cache. Clearing the cache only seems to work once. Each
time I go to a different javascript link, I need to:

1) reclear my cache, then
2) restart IE.

Then I can launch a javascript link.

I have also downloaded the latest script 5.6 for Win98 and
restarted my machine.

Amy additional thoughts? Thanks.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
