IE 6 not allowing JavaScript Pop-ups

Have tried
- clearing cache
-reseting security features
-applying defaults
-re-regestering vscript and jscript dlls
-turned off macfee script scanning
-reinstalled scripting engine
-installed JVM (athough not directly related)
Currently investigating may uninstall IE and reinstall

PC running Windows 2000, IE 6, Virus software: Macafee Virus Scan 8

Scrip bloking turned off in Macafee.

Any ideas?

Hi Knoff :)

Try holding down the Cntrl key when you click on a link. See if that allows
you to get the popups you want only when you want them.

Also, if you have a registered version of Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoftnews.com/theeye/i12/a4.shtml
Under this section: "I have a registered edition of Ad-Aware. How do I
configure Ad-Aware to stop popup advertising?"
Scroll down to "To allow popups...."

or....

IE>Tools>Internet Options>Privacy
UNcheck “Block Pop-Ups.â€

You disable or block Popups by default, then in the Settings add the site
you want to the Exclusion list and allow popups for that site.

Also, do you have any 3rd party toolbars or programs that block popups
installed, such as Google Toolbar? If so, check the settings. Most of
those products include the ability to selectively allow popups by holding
down some hot key while you are clicking.

Hope this helps :)

Manged to fix this problem by repairing IE- Think I did all the right things
before and not sure if this would have worked otherwise. No explanation as
to why it was happening, but possibly IE was not interfacing correctly with
scripting engine.

Thank You
