IE 6--Cannot find Server (Page Not Found)

T

Over the last week or so, at least 4-5 times per day, IE
is giving me the page which says "Page Not Found--Cannot
Find Server". This is usually when I am trying to access
one of my Favorites sites or when I am in one of those
sites doing something. Once this happens, I have to not
only shut down the internet, but restart my computer to
get IE working again. It won't let me go to any other
site once the screen appears. Just closing the internet
& reopening it doesn't help. It continues to show me
that screen until I reboot. HELP!!!

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
