Previously, my IE6 worked fine. Now, it will correctly
link only to those addresses already listed as a favorite.
"New" web addresses manually loaded in the address bar
always default to "linksynergy" and goes nowhere.

Normally, I would remove the program and reload, but, I
can't extract IE6 from Windows XP. I have downloaded
Netscape and it is working good, but, I would like to "fix"
IE6.

Any ideas ? ..... Microsoft is of course no help.

First eliminate any scumware.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
