IE 6.0 windows won't close when certain websites accessed

We have Windows 98 eith IE6.0. We just upgraded from 5.0
to 6.0. Now when we accessed certain websites or when
browser windows open up from within other windows, the
newly opened window locks up and will not allow us to
close the window. Any ideas?
