certain websites won't load

A few weeks ago I got hijacked by about:blank. That problem is resolved.
Since then I've had a problem download certain websites I've downloaded for
years.

It will hang up until I finally stop the action. There are other times I
can connect to a certain sight but if I leave and try to download it again it
hangs up for good and I have no further access to that site.

It's driving me crazy.....Windows XP, IE 6.0
