IE 6.0 sp1-password auto complete

I have tried everything, but can't seem to make internet
explorer save my user names and passwords. Under tools,
options, content, auto complete, the password portion is
grayed out, so I can't select it. I have tried repairing
IE6, re-installing, removing and re-installing, etc. HELP!

Since it isn't working any way, try clicking the Clear Passwords button.
This may clear up whatever Registry corruption is blocking you.

I have the same problem. Clearing out the passwords doesn't fix it. I just
did a complete clean reinstall of Win XP Home, and when I created my
account, the problem appeared the first time I connected. I have deleted
and recreated my account, and the problem persists. This is really driving
me nuts. Sure hope somebody out there has a solution...
