Idle time before hanging up???

Windows XP MyPC does not respond to any of the ( idle times before hanging up) settings that i use. Can You help??

You probably have something running that prevents the pc from going idle,
maybe you have your email set to check too often, say every 5 or 10 mins, if
you want the pc to disconnect you will have to lengthen the time for this.
