Identitiy in Outlook Express with password

E

El Cugino

A neighbor had put a password on one of his identities in Outlook
Express. He cannot remember which password he used. None of them
work. There is one e-mail he needs to look at. Any ideas on
obtaining a lost password for the identity.

Thanks for a quick solution.

Have him contact the ISP/Email Provider and have them change it?
(The password is server-side.)

The password on an Identity, is not a server-side issue. The password on the identity is totally a
user initiated and controlled issue.

Oops - you are correct. I mis-understood.

I am unsure of a way to change that password *if* you don;t know it.

From a previous note from PA Bear
You can't bypass the password...but you can Import the Identity's data. See the workaround
described in the third paragraph on this page of Tom Koch's:
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/faqs/how.htm#importOE5.

Then see this page to delete the Identity with the forgotten password:
