IDE config for CD ripping

I currently 'rip' all my music CDs to MP3 files and then play from my HDD. I
am also building a new PC and was wondering what is the best IDE
configuration for avoiding 'stutter' during either ripping or burning.

Should the HDD and CDRW be on the same interface? or should I separate them?

It really shouldn't matter that much, but I'd make the burner master on ide1
(ide0 is the hard drive) -Dave

Best to separate them, unless you are doing direct CD-CD copies.

No, weather you are ripping one CD direct to another CD or if you are
buffering the data to the harddrive and then burning it to the CD you
will see best performance by keeping the two drives on different
channels.

Each channel can have only have one drive active(read or write) at a
time.
