ICS Issue XP Pro Sp2 machines

All,

I am trying to establish ICS between 2 machines, following the 'Setup up
home network...' wizard.

The first machine is connected to the internet...and sharing is enabled on
that connection.
The two machines are connected via ethernet cable.

After running the wizard on both machines, the IP addressess are given two
them, and it says that they are connected. The main machine can browse the
web etc but the second one cant. The second one cannot even ping any
addressess...it always says 'host cannot be found...'.

I have tried to manually assign addressess to the machines too (using
192.168....addressess), but this still does not work.

Here is some information regarding the connections:

Machine 1:

BT Broadband
IP: 86.139.***.***
Gateway: 255.255.255.255
Subnet: 86.139.73.222
DNS: 194.74.65.69

NIC:

IP: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:

Machine 2:

IP: 192.168.0.10
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway:

The IP addressess are ones i have assinged to the machines. Using the
wizard, it assigns IP's but then the computer wont see each other (limited
or no connectivity messages).
Both machines are running XP Pro. I have even tried this with the firewall
switched off too.

Ok, can anyone advise as to why this is not working correctly? I am sure I
have set everything up correctly.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

TIA

Machine 2 needs to have a default gateway of 192.168.0.1 and a Primary DNS
entry of 194.74.65.69 or 192.168.0.1. If you are not using a switch or hub,
then you must use a crossover cable to connect these machines.
