ICS Problem

Hi, I have two computer in my home, one is running WinXp
Pro and the other is running W2K Pro. The WinXP machine
is connected to the Internet via a dial-up connection and
my W2k machine is connected to the WinXp machine via a
network switch. They are under the same workgroup. I
tried to share the internet connection on the WinXP, but
the client machine can only open webpage using IP
addresses. Can anyone give me a hand and tell me
what's wrong with my setting.

Here is my configuration.

WinXP:
Modem:
obtain IP from my ISP automatically.

Network adaptor setting.

ip address : 192.168.0.1
subnet mask:: 255.255.255.0
no default gateway.
no DNS server.

I have checked the internet connection sharing checkbox
under my internet connection and the default WinXP
firewall is enabled.

Win2K:

ip address : 192.168.0.2
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.0.1

no DNS server

Thank you very much to everyone who spends time reading
this article and try to solve my problem.

Regards,

Johnny

The client computer needs a DNS server to let it access web pages by
their names. Set the DNS server address to either 192.168.0.1 or to
your ISP's DNS server address.

Enable XP's firewall on the host computer's Internet connection.
Disable XP's firewall on the host computer's local area network
connection.
