ICS Firewall Problem opening service from control panel.

I get the following error when opening the ICS Firewall service.

Configuration Manager: The Specified device instance handle does not
correspond to a present device

The service page then opens. I can start or stop the service.
The problem started after removing of virus and other spyware.
First the SharedAccess registry tree was missing but I recreated from
another PC but I still get the above error msg. I have tried most solutions
found here but none have worked.

If you have a windows CD then you could try running the System File Checker.
Go>start>run and type in
sfc /scannow
or copy and paste the above, and then click ok. Follow the on screen
prompts. If you have SP2 installed then it maybe better for you to modify the
place where the SFC utiltiy looks for the protected operating system files.
But for now lets see what happens to your SFC using the original CD. BTW you
can borrow anyones XP CD to do this. Just be sure XP Home for XP Home and XP
PRO for XP PRO. TTFN.

The application statea that some files are unrecognized and must be replace
with the orginal files. Does'nt tell me what files are and claims the CD
inserted is not the original for the OS when in fact it is the original CD.
Would be nice if a log was produced so I could manual replace the files.

Thnaks...
