icons wanting to open with...

my neighbor has just recently downloaded mircosofts spyware package on their
home computer. Im assuming the download went ok but now when he trys and
opens up all his icons on his desktops they come up with the alternate window
asking which program he wants to open them up with? I thought about trying to
go back in time to undo this situation but have forgotten with xp which
options I am supposed to go through to get this done? If anyone has any other
suggestions or let me know what is going on I would appreciate it!!!

if you want to use system restore to go back in time then you'll find a link
to the program in the help and support system. click start, help and support
center and type in the search box "system restore" then click on the link
"Run the System Restore Wizard" under pick a task
