(Running XP home on a new HP).
I have of lots of image files which open in Adobe
Photoshop 7. When I open a folder of pictures the icon in
front of each image name switches to the Photoshop icon.
This takes about one and a half seconds per file and I
have perhaps a hundred or more files in a folder. While
this switching is going on I basically can't do anything
with the files, for example, drag them to a CD burner
window; everything just stops. If this just happened the
first time you opened the folder I could live with it, but
it starts over every time. It drives me crazy. This never
happened with my old Gateway on ME. I can't find anything
in folder options etc. to help. Any ideas out there?

In Windows Explorer go to Tools, Folder Options and look for Do not cache
thumbnails. Make sure this option is unchecked.
