Icons permanantly Arranged By "Modified"

Hi,

Recently, all my icons have changed from being arranged
by name, which I assume is the default, to being arranged
by Modified.

I've tried to set it back by right clicking > arrange
icons > by name, but it just goes back to modified next
time I open the file (in any program)

is there anyway to set the default back to "arrange by
name"?
