VIEW MENU -- Arrange icons by...

In My Pictures, subfolder "Kodak", under the VIEW menu, there are 6 options:

Arrange icons by:
Name
Size
Type
Modified
Picture Taken On
Dimensions

Guess what:

No matter what option I select, I ALWAYS have my files listed alphabetically!

Can anyone help me "fix" this slight quandry??

I did so, and the box is/was checked...still to no avail!

I solved the problem by renaming my 20 files as follows:

1-NAME
2-NAME
3-NAME
....
....
....
20-NAME

Now, since it will only open alphabetically, I have beat the problem...by
the way, my other folders under My Picture seem to

You did not say what the problem is.

How would you like them arranged? What is your definition of "fixed".

I think if you have folder and files, the folders will always come up
first, alphabetically, then the files by numbers then letters. The
View, Arrange by options change the order but folders will always come
first, then files.

Another thing to look at is clicking the column heading (Name, Size,
etc.) and the order will switch up or down - and should be remembered
the next time you open the folder, at least that is how mine works.
Some people don't know that.

Maybe that will give you some more options to play with and get your
desired results.
