I have a problem with my new Dell Inspiron 9100 and icons
on the desktop.
The laptop is using a ATI Radeon 9700 graphics card
running in the 1900x1600 resolution. I have several icons
on the desktop and after I close the lid (the computer is
set to 'do nothing' when the lid is closed) and open it
back up again, the screen flashes for a second at a lower
resolution than 1900x1600 and then comes on for good in
that resoluton. The problem is when it 'flashes for a
split second, the icons now appear in the upper left
corner of the screen as if the laptop were in a lower
resolution. I have the most up to date drivers and Dell
doesn't know what they are doing when I discuss this with
them. They told me it was a hard drive problem and they
also told me that since I have 4 partitioned drives from
the 60 GB drive, they will not give me tech support.
Anybody know how to fix this?
Email me at (e-mail address removed) if you do. Thank you very
much.
