icons missing

Windows Xp mediacentre 2005

Uninstalled "netWaiting" and "Dell" programs that were annoying me, now I
find that the pictures for the icons on the start menus and sub menus have
been replaced with a "default icon". Even on the desktop some of the
original icons pictures have been replaced with this "default icon".

The progams with the "default icon". still work.

If the entries on the Start Menu and submenus correspond to programs that
you have uninstalled, then you should remove them as well. The reason the
"default" icon is being displayed is that you uninstalled the programs that
contained the original icons. If there are any "good" shortcuts that are now
incorrectly displaying the wrong icon you can change them back using
shortcut "advanced" properties.
