Icons in Windows explorer.

Peter

Hello to you all. Have been using XP for quite a while and suddenly
now have icons or little images of graphic files when using Win
Explorer. At my age and eyesight they are useless, I have looked up
help and found nothing helpful under icon. How can I remove this
feature.

Thanks in advance. Pete.

Click View and select a different view than Icons.

Well blow me down!! I've only been running XP for a few days and here's
question I can answer!

Open windows explorer and you'll see at the top a tab called "Tool" click on
that and "Folder options" will appear at the bottom. Click on that and you
will be in a window called "General". That can let you play with some
settings, you might like to see what happens (remember you can restore
defaultd here if you screw up). More useful would be the second tab "View"
(you could have got here from the top of your 'Windows Explorer' window with
"view" as well, by the way, but this is more general and more powerful.
Test out the various settings.

If that doesn't give you what you want (it might not), then back out to your
window again and in the tab "Views". This allows you to choose how files are
displayed. Being of a sober disposition, I choose the option "List". YMMV.
