Icons don't work

Hi, yesterday everything was fine...today I wanted to use
some desktop icons which I created to link to IE for easy
access and it doesn't work.

Instead an error comes out:

Windows cannot find "...(web address) " Make sure you
typed the name correctly and then try again. To search
for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

Why does this appear? I open IE without the link and it
goes to my home page. I then paste the weblink and it
works. There must be a bug. Please help.

To create a desktop link and icon for IE, try this:

Tools > Internet options > Advanced tab

Under Browsing select "Show Internet Explorer on the desktop".

Click Apply and OK.

That should do it.
