Icons disappear when doing a file search

When I do a file search on a Win2K workstation, my icons
disppear. I have to refresh my desktop in order to get
them to reappear. I checked the virtual memeoy settings
and system resources. Any ideas?
 
I would be suspecting a video card memory issue. Try reducing the color
level and or resolution on the desktop and test.
