Icons are blank on desktop

My daughter was playing a game on my computer and after she quit all the
icons on my desktop are blank white pages. Like internet explorer used to
have the blue icon with the big e now is a white page with the corner turned
down. I tried a system restore but did not help. What do I need to do? Jerry

To clear and reset icon cache:
Right click on the desktop, select Properties, Appearance, Advanced. Now using the item drop down
box, choose Icon. Change the pixel number by one. OK all the way out.

Install xp cd,exit the info page,go to run,type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow
When its thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,then type:EXIT Restart
computer,remove xp cd.If it still happens,create a new user,open xp in new
user,if all is ok,then the old user account is corrupted,delete it.
