Icons all black - menus and list view

When bringing up the 'start menu' and the 'programs' folder, or looking
at 'my computer' in 'list' mode the icons are just solid black squares.
The same for the folder side in 'Explorer' but not the other side! This
is true for most items, but not all. I have not seen a pattern yet.

Give me a clue?

Reinstall/upgrade your video driver.
