icon title bars

Is there any way to get the captions under the icons to be outlined with a transparent color. I would like the desktop theme selected to be seen under the captions. Right now the captions are boxed in the color chosen for the desktop. Can this color be set to transparent, All I would like to see under the icon is the caption print over the background, not boxed in the desktop color?????

Start/Control Panel/System/Advanced/Performance/Settings/ Visual
Effects/"Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"

Also:

Right click the desktop and select Arrange Icons by. Towards the bottom of
that list, uncheck "Lock web items on the desktop."

Desktop Text Color:

By default in XP, it can't be manually changed. The text changes on its own
from dark to light depending on the color of the background. It is based on
the Desktop color not the Wallpaper. The combo is whether or not you are
using a Wallpaper and what the Desktop color is.

Right click the My Computer icon on your desktop, go to Properties,
Advanced, Performance, Settings, Visual Effects and put a check in the box
in front of: Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop.

Tip: Transparent text under icons - ALT+0160

Right click the icon in question, choose Rename, hold down the ALT key and
type 0160 from the keypad.
