Hi all,

The icons for my excel s/sheets show up as normal when I first boot up. But
during the day it seems to lose the icon and replaces it with another file
type icon.

Does anyone know why this would be occuring ?

cheers,

Adam

I think I need to clarify this. The icon I am talking about is the small one
that appears when using Windows Explorer.

....and today it was the Word files that showed the wrong icon.

cheers.

Try rebuilding the ShellIconCache. To do this find the file named
ShellIconCache and delete it then reboot the pc. The file should be in
the %SystemRoot% folder (usually Winnt). The file may be hidden, change
the file attribute or set Explorer to show all files. Windows will
recreate/rebuild the IconCache when you reboot.
