Fearing my icon cache was corrupt, and following advice I read elsewhere
that if I deleted iconcache.db Windows would rebuild it, I accordingly
deleted it. XP Home has not rebuilt it, although the computer seems to be
working find
e without it. How can I get it back?

Switch the color depth between 32 and 16 bit and then back.
Then reboot or relogin. The iconcache.db is back.
But usually it will disapprear again soon... I gave up and
live without it.

Hi Walt,

The file can't be rebuilt manually. The system automatically creates/updates this file whenever necessary. Give it a few days time to see if the file is rebuilt.
