IBM Thinkpad

Hi

I have an IBM ThinkPad which is compatible with Windows
XP, but I was wondering if the same procedures as
formatting my home computer be the same as my laptop
especially an IBM? I'm not too familiar with laptops or
IBM's so I'm not sure if I need to do something different?

I do have backup drivers if Xp can't recognize them for
some reason. But other than that I would like to format
my laptop and of course partition the hard drive into
2.

Thank you very much

Hi Jenna:
I have an IBM ThinkPad as well, and i used to work for a company where I
managed several Thinkpads. The same basic routines work for the thinkpads.
If you want to format and reinstall, which is what I suggest, go into setup,
set it to boot to the CD Rom first, then boot to the CD and follow the
directions. If you've not done a clean install with XP before, I'd suggest
you check out the link below...

One thing that is a bit unique with IBM Thinkpads...they suggest that you
use the drivers installed on their website and not necessarily the drivers
from Windows Update. Go to their site and look up your machine and then
look for the driver matrix. They have it organized very well.

other than that, it's pretty simple and straight forward.
