i950 hardware problem?

F

Faiser

All,

Since a couple of days, I get a heavy green cast on the bottom of all my
prints from my i950.
I looks almost like a green marker effect on the last inch of every page. A
non printed region is not affected, so if I leave a bottom border of at
least 1" the green cast is gone. The green stripe appears on any size
paper. My driver is latest version 1.62.

I doubt this has anything to do with choice of ink or paper. At the moment
I have both original Canon cartridges and 3rd party ink in the print head.
Papers I use is Canon Pro, Canon semi-gloss, Ilford Classic Gloss.

I print using Photoshop and/or Qimage. Same effect.

Any similar experiences?

Apart from that, I've been very happy with my i950 so far. No clogging yet
or cleaning the print head yet (knock on wood). I have my i950 for a year
by now, but only recently discovered the offer of canned profiles available
for purchase. (shame on you Canon for only providing a generic BJ2 profile).
I'm using a $25 profile from ddisoftware and my colors are pretty close to
screen image. Don't know about the longevity of the 3rd party ink that's why
I print my keepers on Ilford Classic.

Thanks

Have you tried a basic RGB profile? Have you physically checked your
ink levels?
